Hello –and thank you for visiting my newly revamped site, Photography has always been one of many passions; I honestly cannot remember when I have ever been without a camera. When I was a small child, I would visit my Grandmother, who lived in Acton, on Arthur street. Grandma, who was of Irish and Swiss German Mennonite extraction, was always getting out the photo albums when I came to visit. I loved looking at those old faded photos of long-dead relatives. I had noticed that there were lots of photos of the Irish relatives –and hardly any of the Mennonite. A couple of years ago, my mother had gone to visit an elderly Mennonite cousin, who declined her request for a photograph. The Mennonites –like the Amish believed that when you took a photograph, you took a part of that person’s soul. In some ways I agree –but it is not necessarily a negative thing.

I like to take pictures of people and things I love –and they are always things of beauty –in my eyes; and often others. It’s that special quality in them, that goes beyond the physical element that makes them beautiful. And when you appreciate beauty, you are giving energy to that object of your appreciation. When one is photographed ; it is true –you really are giving a part of yourself; but there is an exchange of energy taking place. When I take a picture of something I find beautiful, I am simply mirroring back to them that which is in them -and saying: “ I LOVE YOU!” I THINK YOU” ARE WONDERFUL!!”
